30pm Responsibilities The Insurance Clerk performs a variety of office clerical duties in connection with inpatient and outpatient insurance billings and payments.
The insurance clerk also assists with coverage of hospital switchboard.
Essential Functions:
Records and maintains complete and accurate transactions and patient billing information in the hospital's billing system in order to submit timely and accurate bills to patients and third parties.
Processes worklists and reports as may be assigned according to established procedures.
Responds in a timely manner to questions or request for information received from hospital departments, other staff members, patients and insurance companies.
Submits bills to patients and third parties as may be assigned according to established procedures.
Performs other task/functions as may be assigned.
Qualifications EDUCATION AND
Experience:
High school diploma/GED required.
