Critical Care Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (Advanced Practitioner)

The intent of this job description is to provide a summary of the major duties and responsibilities of this position and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the position. As with any other health care professional, the Critical Care Hospitalist Advanced Practitioner is charged with being a patient advocate.
Works in conjunction with critical care and hospitalist physicians to care for medical, surgical and critical care patients as requested.
Performs initial evaluation and history & physical examination of all assigned patients.
Performs in depth, systematic assessment of assigned patients, as needed, for clinical interventions.
Demonstrates competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated.
Performs therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as directed by the critical care physician. (See credentials list).
Provide cost effective, high quality care based on best practice evidenced based medicine. Participates in the research, development, implementation, and tracking of clinical
management guidelines.
Demonstrates performance improvement in the following areas as appropriate: clinical care/outcomes, customer/service improvement, operational system/process, and safety.
Provide regular, timely, and appropriate communication with referring physicians, patients and their families.
Participates in education of patients and their families.
Actively develops care plans and discharge dispositions in conjunction with the Case Management team.
Participates in regular meetings of the practice group.
Remain current with medical records documentation and respond in a timely manner to requests for chart review and completion.
Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices.
Submit timely and accurate billing information.
Attends appropriate continuing medical education so as to maintain Pennsylvania Licensure.
Demonstrates ability to develop effective working relationships within the hospital and St. Luke's University Health Network.
Participates in identifying department needs and supports departmental goals and objectives.
Supports the philosophy and strategic plan of the critical care and internal medicine departments.
Demonstrates/models the network's service excellence standards of performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external).
Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the network/entity as well as the proper release of information.
Complies with network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.
Complies with network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
